Easy to install

The first step is to remove the old cover from your key. The original cover needs to be removed before the replacement cover can be fitted.
Once you have removed the old cover Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the four major attachment clips on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red on the image below. Also, note the tabs for locating slots, which are yellow, that require disengagement in addition.
Replace the old battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob and the "side that is "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.
Reattach the mirror's passenger side cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've done that place the fob that's on the driver's side back into your car and test it. Press the button at the front of the key. If everything works correctly the car should turn on the parking lights and your doors will lock automatically.
Easy to remove

This is done by pressing the red "Fiat" button located on the front of your key fob. After you remove the metal keys you will discover a small silver switch that displays images of a padlock both locked and unlocked next to it. This is the battery switch for the key fob. The battery is simple to replace by turning the switch a quarter turn using a tiny screwdriver that has a flathead.
The key fob is equipped with a microchip in it that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key in your Fiat car, it presses the ignition switch, which is used as a "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM can scan the transponder on the key fob, to verify that it's valid.
You can also add a sport-inspired twin pack to your key covers to give it a an original and fun look. These covers snap into place over your original cover and are available in Cream and Silver. The key cover only works when you remove the black cover from your key fob.
